Artist, Printmaker, and Founder of Beenanza Design
My story
I’m Bethany — an artist, printmaker, and the human behind Beenanza Design, a Vermont-based printmaking practice rooted in block printing, pattern, and playful experimentation.
My work lives at the intersection of art, design, and process. I make things with my hands — often imperfect, always curious — and I care deeply about helping other people remember that they can do the same.
I’m drawn to work that feels approachable and a little unexpected — patterns that invite you to look closer, notice repetition, and see how simple shapes can build something layered and alive. Block printing became my home because it’s both structured and loose at the same time: there’s a process to follow, but also plenty of room for improvisation, surprise, and happy accidents. That balance shows up in everything I make, from small prints to large-scale murals and collaborative projects.
CoverAll: Printmaking You Can Actually Use
One of the questions I hear most often in workshops is:
“How would I do this at home?”
That question is why I created CoverAll — a block printing kit designed to make printmaking approachable, flexible, and genuinely fun. CoverAll isn’t about following strict steps or making a “perfect” final piece. It’s about learning through repetition, layering shapes, and seeing what happens when you give yourself permission to experiment.
The kit is built around a set of flower and stem blocks that can be mixed, flipped, and reused endlessly — allowing patterns to grow and change over time. Whether you’re printing on paper, fabric, or a wall, CoverAll is meant to meet you where you are, not where you think you should be.
CoverAll reflects how I work in my own studio: intuitive, tactile, and a little bit messy in the best way. It’s printmaking as a practice, not a performance.
Printmaking Workshops & Creative Teaching
Teaching has always been central to my work. I host public printmaking workshops, lead private and corporate workshops, and facilitate hands-on creative experiences for people who want to work with their hands — no prior art experience required.
My workshops focus on:
Block printing basics
Pattern building and repetition
Printing on paper, fabric, and walls
Letting go of perfection and trusting the process
I’ve taught everyone from first-time printmakers to seasoned creatives looking to reconnect with play. The goal is always the same: to help people leave feeling more confident, curious, and connected to their own creativity.
Workshops are available as:
Public, open-registration classes
Private group workshops
Custom sessions for organizations, teams, and events
“The workshop was pure magic! Bethany is an incredible teacher & artist. We made the coolest things! Bethany provided the perfect amount of support and encouragement to let our creativity flow. I did the workshop with my 13-year-old niece ….and we both can’t wait to do it again!”

Block-Printed Murals & Commercial Work
In addition to small-scale printmaking, I design and hand-print large-scale murals for commercial, public, and private spaces. My mural work translates the language of block printing — repetition, texture, and variation — onto walls, creating environments that feel alive, human, and distinctly handmade.
I’ve collaborated with brands and organizations including Cabot Creamery, King Arthur Baking Company, Von Trapp Family Lodge, Mamava, and Foam Brewers, creating custom artwork that brings warmth, color, and personality into shared spaces.
Each mural is printed by hand — no vinyl, no shortcuts — which means every installation carries subtle variation and texture. The result is work that feels intentional but never sterile, polished but never flat.
I’m represented by Tantau Studios and continue to collaborate with businesses looking for bold, human-centered visual storytelling.
How I Got Here
I earned my BFA in 2006 and spent more than a decade working in the design industry, eventually serving as an Associate Creative Director. That background sharpened my eye for composition, scale, and visual systems.
In 2017, a formative trip to Jaipur, India, where I studied traditional block-printing, reawakened my love for tactile, imperfect, handmade work. That experience changed everything. In 2018, I launched Beenanza as a way to return to process, pattern, and making by hand.
Today, my practice blends design discipline with playful experimentation. I embrace imperfection as a creative driver, allowing intuition, curiosity, and discovery to guide the work.
At the Heart of It All
Whether I’m printing a wall, teaching a workshop, or creating an illustration at my studio in Burlington, Vermont, my work is about joy, process, and permission.
Permission to start before you feel ready.
Permission to make a mess.
Permission to say, “I made that.”
